FarkasEverything about welding.

My career started with practical welding and has developed towards welding technology, inspection and quality. I now work in Quality Control and continue my development as an International Welding Technologist, supported by VT Level 2 and nine years of industrial experience since qualifying as a welder in 2017.

Professional journey

My career has been built step by step. Each company brought a different material, production method or level of responsibility, and together they shaped the way I look at welding and quality today.

Equans Nederland · ASML

Quality Control / Kwaliteitszorg

Moving into QC was a change of position, but not a break from my previous work. I now look at many of the same systems from the inspection and documentation side. My work includes checking piping systems, technical documentation, P&IDs, welding documentation, site deviations and system handover.

The practical background helps me here. I know what it is like to receive the drawing, fit the components and make the weld. When something does not match the documentation, I can look at both sides: what was required on paper and what was actually possible or built in the field.

Equans Nederland · ASML

Certified Welder / Pipe Fitter

At the ASML site I moved from product fabrication into process piping and a high-tech cleanroom environment. A pipe is no longer an isolated product: it belongs to a complete system, with a defined medium, route, components, drawings and acceptance requirements.

This is where I became increasingly interested in the reason behind the work: why a joint is made in a certain way, which procedure applies, what has to be inspected and how compliance is demonstrated. My current DNV qualification also covers TIG process 141 on stainless tube, with visual and radiographic testing accepted.

Duotank Group BV

Certified Welder / Fabricator

At Duotank I moved closer to regulated pressure equipment. The company designs and manufactures stainless-steel pressure tanks and complete tank systems, including PED and ASME-qualified pressure vessels. This environment made traceability, welder qualification, documented procedures and inspection much more important.

My own qualification records from this period include EN ISO 9606-1 TIG / process 141 butt-weld qualifications on stainless tube. That experience became an important bridge between practical welding and the quality side of the profession.

WILVO

Welder / Fabricator

WILVO introduced me to a more high-tech manufacturing environment. The company combines sheet-metal processing, machining, welding, mechanical assembly and specialist cleaning for demanding industrial sectors. Its production platform includes laser cutting, bending, deburring, conventional and laser welding, robot welding and ISO 7 cleanroom capabilities.

Precision became much more visible here. The work made me pay closer attention to tolerances, distortion, repeatability and the connection between welding and the processes before and after it. I started to see manufacturing as a chain rather than as separate operations.

Box Deuren & Hekwerk

Welder / Fabricator

Here the work became more custom-made. The company builds gates, fencing and related metal constructions, including fabrication, finishing, automation and installation. Instead of repeating the same product, many jobs required adapting to a different size, design or combination of components.

It strengthened my fabrication skills and taught me to think about the complete product: frame, fit-up, finish, hinges, locks and the parts that later have to work together on site.

PMC Staalbouw BV

Welder / Fabricator

After moving to the Netherlands I switched from aluminium rail vehicles to structural steel. PMC manages steel construction from engineering and fabrication through transport and site erection. In the workshop, steel structures are assembled from technical drawings and welded as complete fabrications.

MIG/MAG welding is used for structural steel work. This period gave me much more experience with fitting, assembling, measuring and understanding how individual beams, plates and profiles become one larger construction.

Stadler Trains Hungary

Aluminium Welder

This is where welding became my everyday profession. The Szolnok plant manufactures aluminium rail vehicle bodies and components. Large extruded aluminium sections are assembled into accurate carbody structures, where welding sequence, heat input and distortion control matter just as much as the appearance of the weld.

I learned to work in an industrial production environment, follow technical drawings and understand that a weld is only one part of a complete structure. The finished body still has to stay within dimensional and quality requirements.

What I bring

My main direction is welding technology, inspection and quality. Nine years of practical industry experience gives me the field background to understand how technical requirements, documentation and execution connect.

01

Welding technology

Building the theoretical side through Middelbare Lastechniek and IWT: materials, welding processes, WPS/WPQR, weldability, defects and coordination.

02

Inspection & quality

VT Level 2, visual weld inspection, documentation review, P&ID checks, field verification and quality follow-up.

03

Practical welding

Experience across aluminium, structural steel, stainless steel, fabrication and piping. Qualified TIG welding on stainless tube under EN ISO 9606-1.

Education & qualifications

After years of hands-on work as a welder and fabricator, my career moved towards quality control and welding technology. I take that field experience with me: it helps me connect drawings, procedures and requirements with what actually happens during fabrication and installation.

Next step

Welding technology. Inspection. Quality.

My focus is on welding technology, inspection, welding coordination and quality control. I want to keep developing on the technical and quality side of the industry, using my practical welding background as field experience rather than as the main direction of my career.
